COONGIE LAKES
The Coongie Lakes system is in north eastern South Australia, located north-west of Innamincka in the Innamincka Regional Reserve.
It is a World Heritage listed region which is recognised for its importance in providing a unique environment for plants and animals of the desert.
The lakes form a complex and extensive freshwater wetlands system including lakes, channels, billabongs, shallow floodplains, deltas, and inter-dune swamps.
